Native American Inspirations

When you really think about it, what is your goal as a Girlsense fashion designer? Sure, you can rack up some trophies, sell a lot of items and stuff like that, but in the end, the only designers that become very well-known are the users who do something different. Something that hasn't been over-used, so that you can completely make it your own.
So how do we find ideas that no one has ever thought of? Websites like Polyvore are great for getting ideas, and old movies are fun to get ideas from. Lately, I have been looking into textiles and designs from different cultures, and Native American inspired fashions are my favorite! I thought I would share a bit of my favorite looks, and you can use them as you please.
This style is not just feathers, beading, and a little bit of fringe. It is all about tradition and honoring the past in a creative and personal way. Way back when, the clothes that Native Americans wore were hugely important. What you wore let others know what tribe you were from. I love the way that these people used what nature gave them, and through that they honored and thanked the animals and plants.
     I think it's so pretty :)

And here's the best part! Melding modern styles and these traditional looks is very fun, and not difficult. Here are some user creations:

The fact that it was difficult to find these styles is proof that there is still so much to be done in this fabulous trend. Please message me if you make anything you'd like to show me :)
